The Italian word “Casta” has a double meaning: chaste as pureness and the religious caste.
We have been asked ourselves what is this chaste and caste referred to. Which families are they referred to? Of which Caste will have been their members? We play with the meanings of this word, and we could say that our room is indeed beautiful, or better it could be compared to a celebrity. Beyond the pun, the title is a small tribute to one of our illustrious fellow citizen: the composer Vincenzo Bellini. “Casta Diva” is the cantabile of the cavatina, a brief song, belonging to the Norma with which the main character, a Gallic priestess, raises a prayer to the Moon.
